Abstract

In modern studies, the concept of emotion is often “among the frontrunners” thanks to the possibility of an interdisciplinary
approach. In translation studies, emotions could be regarded as one of the realities of a society, because emotions are always culturally marked, given their direct link with mentalities and worldviews, the events that occur in different societies. Our study about emotions is based on the novel “Tema pentru acasă” (“Homework”) by the Moldovan writer Nicolae Dabija and its translation into French 22 Mille et un visages de la francophonie. Pragmatique et poétique de la diversité “Devoir à render”. This should allow us to identify the verbalisation of emotions (the primitives of emotion according to A. Wierzbicka), in the original and the translator’s findings with a view to convey the informative content of the original into the French version.
