Abstract

Abstract: The approach to the field of the philosophy of language does not evolve too rapidly, and furthermore, it depends largely on the social and scientific developments. This is why the production of writings in this field, belonging to various social areas, is most often the direct result of the aims of their authors. The two books which we shall propose for analysis, in order to perceive the visions on this aspect of language, come from the French and the Romanian space and somehow target a public with several similarities. The reason behind is that the authors of the book in French (Sylvain Auroux, Jacques Deschamps, Djamel Koulougli), which is a textbook too, set as their goal to provide a very detailed synthesis of the most important results, in their opinion, in this area. Meanwhile, the book in Romanian takes a more personalized approach of its author (Ioan Oprea), who has designed his work primarily as a textbook as well. However, on the other hand, being his own investigation, the choice of topics included in the work is motivated by the author’s personal investment. The interest of these two books for a look from the outside, which we apply as well, lies in the effort to find the focus of the issues which would highlight some questions described by a universal dimension. Moreover, the authors are interested in observing their application in the professional training in the field of language and intercultural communication.
