Abstract

An important phenomenon has occurred in French lexicography today. On March 16th, 2023, after an order from
French President Emmanuel Macron, the Online Dictionary of French Speakers was launched. This essential tool for every student, journalist, editor, professor, teacher, writer, poet, translator/ interpreter, is available at an easy-to-remember address www.
dictionnairedesfrancophones.org and via a free mobile application. 41 Ion MANOLI The dictionary contains nearly 600,000 terms and expressions and is a call to all those who speak and write French on five continents. This article reveals the neologisms of speech (individual creations, author’s words, occasional words etc.) which are still avoided by lexicographers due to subjective and objective reasons.
