Sentir une langue étrangère

Abstract

To write in a foreign language, I think you must first know to Feel it, and for that, it would be necessary, in the first place, to be able to feel your own native language, you must first be in love with your native language. It is important to feel comfortable in your native language, to know how to laugh out loud and to know how to go through intolerable pain in it. These lived experiences and the feelings we go through help us, it seems to me, to write in a foreign language.

You can decide to write in French as you can fall in love with somebody. The latter is defined as the immediate and irrational birth of a feeling of love for an unknown person whose physical appearance would correspond to our ideal, such as a sudden love against which we cannot fight. The feeling of love then leads us to a one-off, repetitive or infinite experience. It seems banal, but the Love for the French language (but also the Fear of losing it) led me to express myself in French.

Being a poet is not my ambition, it is my way of being free. I also find in writing in French a different Freedom, dreamed, dared, assumed, reassuring.
