Le verbe et ses arguments dans les écrits scientifiques

Abstract

Taking as our object of study the discourse genre of summaries in the humanities, our article sets out to analyse the
semantic-syntactic behaviour of terminological verbs appearing in the V+Dét+N construction with the aim of identifying the
relationships established between the semantic-syntactic properties of the verbs and the object classes of their main arguments: subject and object. At the end of our analysis, we observed the selective behaviour of terminological verbs as a function of the Subject-Verb- Object relationship, which proves that verbs play an essential role in the lexical network they establish with the selected object classes.
