The French component in Romanian literature, culture or legislation has traditionally been solid and dense in the historical genesis of many other fields. Be it language policies or creative industries – the French influence remains productive and invigorating. Reported today to Europeanity as a cultural paradigm of openness, freedom of thought, experience and French expertise continue to be exercised. Identifying the multiple codes, studying how they are organized into a system and identifying cultural models and their meanings supposes awareness of the societies being compared. Thus, we propose to point out some tendencies of the French influence on the literary criticism of Moldova.
Our analysis is based on a long history of literary, artistic, and cultural confluences and complicities. How did these influences of French civilization, culture and literature constitute a model and a tradition, a space of resonance and a code? How did the so- called synchronization of ideas, subjects and favorite topoi come about? How was the choice made of the specificity of the chosen models (in our case of the French one) and the characteristics of the imaginative transfer from one geocultural space to another? Whether it be inspiration, contamination, reminiscence, similarities, parallelisms, borrowing or common counterpoints – the French imprint has marked Romanian literature and criticism of Moldova to the point of speaking of it as a permanent fruitful tradition and a dialogue between literatures and cultures.
