Aspecte semantico-funcționale ale simbolului somatic în textul poetic european

Abstract

Abstract: Poetry is one of the most concentrated, profound and complex ways of expressing thoughts, frequently in an abstract and multidimensional manner. The poetic somatic symbol, having a multifunctional importance, represents an ambiguous structure due to its multiple and at the same time contrastive features: simplicity/complexity, clarity/evasiveness, singularity/universality and antiquity/modernity/actuality, determines interest among researchers and scholars for its amplitude and vast dimension. The following article represents semantic-functional aspects of the somatic symbol in the Romance-Germanic poetics, distinguishes and reveals the importance of somatic symbol functions in the poetic text, highlights the similarity of cultural codes and poetic imagery through intercultural phenomenon and demonstrates the individuality of the somatic symbol within poetic framework because of its multidimensional complex structure that often is situated at the interference of different sciences.

This investigation emphasizes the semantic-functional specificity of poetic somatic symbols, through several subdivisions of knowledge concerning: 1. statutory or structural framework of the poetic somatic symbol: symbol-concept, symbol-phrase, symbol-image, symbol-text, symbol-intertext, symbol-paradigm; 2. situational segment of the poetic symbol that refers to deictic information of the constitutive element; 3. functional aspect of the somatic symbol which represents its role in the situational framework and conforms to statutory framework of the somatic symbol; 4. compositional framework of the poetic somatic symbol that aims at semantic analysis based on the decomposition of meanings; 5. formal segment that refers to systemic categories of the poetic somatic symbol: a. simple/complex, b. denotative/connotative, c. verbal/nonverbal, d. abstract/concrete, e. positive/negative/neutral, f. individual/universal; 6. expression framework of the poetic somatic symbol that reflects the style and the way of expression of the somatic symbol; 7. cultural dimension of the poetic somatic symbol that refers to its ethnolinguistic conceptualization in order to individualize sociocultural imagery; 8. intercultural segment of the poetic somatic symbol that reflects its contrastive-comparative evidences at multicultural level that appear after the externalization of cultural symbolic meanings and functions (French, English, Italian and Romanian); 9. cognitivist-pragmatic subdivision of the somatic symbol that highlights psycholinguistic influence of the symbolic expression in order to establish contact, interest and imagination of the receiver via constituent elements in which conceptual metaphor represents the basic element and favors the decoding of symbolic meaning; 10. intensity framework of the somatic symbol that reveals its pragmatic-semantic evidence through constitutive-situational process, in order to facilitate its individualization in various cultural and intercultural communicative situations.
