Les langues caucasiennes du Sud
Abstract
Abstract: The Kartvelian (or South Caucasian) language group comprises Georgian, Megrelian, Laz (Chan) and Svan. Historical- comparative studies of these languages have a long history. Various issues of their structure were studied from the very beginning in works of prominent European linguists such as M. F. Brosset, G. Deeters, G. Dumézil and others.
This article systematically presents a modern structural-typological analysis of Kartvelian languages at all levels: phonetics, phonology, morphology and syntax.
A considerable attention is paid to typological relations of Kartvelian languages with Indo-European.
